PRESENTATION OUTLINE
1.
FIRST WE THOUGHT OUT THE QUESTION.
Make a box that will reduce the sound for your IPhone.
We started off with buying a pair of shoes,-
-and using the box it came with.
Limitations: least amount of mass, must fit on a-
-pice of paper, and must have good sound reduction.
2.
THE GATHERING OF THE INFORMATION
We looked up sound proof items.
We found carpets are decent at sound blocking.
We added a second layer into the box for less sound.
The information is from
www.wikipedia.com
3.
ALTERNATE IDEAS
Idea 1: Put sand into the box
Idea 2: Put water into the box
Idea 3: Put sand with water into the box and duct tape it
Idea 4: Use carpets and other light, sound resistant items
4.
PROS
Idea 1: The sand would be great with sound reduction.
Idea 2: it would also reduce sound.
Idea 3: the mixture would make it to a mud-
-like substance, blocking the sound.
Idea 4: it fairly increases the mass.
5.
CONS
Idea 1: the sand would increase the mass
Idea 2: the water would seep through the box
Item 3: the sand/water would be too much mass
Idea 4: the mass is reasonable and the sound-
-would be fairly quiet
6.
THE SOLUTION
We went with the carpets
It is light and doesn't have much mass
It is good at being sound resistant
7.
THIS IS THE PROTOTYPE
Our results were: out: 22.9
In: 34.6
Diffrance: -11.7
Mass: 1470 grams
Efficiency: -0.007959183673469
