  • Most broadleaf forest that covers most of the Amazon Basin
  • The forest floor is dark in color due to the tree canopy above
  • Soil isn't rich and is poor for farming

AMAZON RIVER

  • Climate: Warm, rainy, and humid year round
  • Vegetation: 100 arboreal species found in one acre.

FACTS

  • Length is around 4000 miles
  • Can reach over 190 kilometers in width
  • Over 3000 species of fish

  • Humid, Tropical and subtropical except for the drier areas in the northeast
  • Many types of soil. Thousands of plant and animal species

FACTS

  • Enormous region of hills, plateaus, and mountain ranges
  • 3,300 feet above sea level
  • Covers at least half of Brazil
