PBIS

  • Focus: Character Development
  • Expectation Rubrics
  • Bobcat Cards
  • Paw Pantry & Prizes
  • Drawings and creating awareness
PBIS focuses on how to help our students develop their positive character traits.

PBIS team created a template for teachers to fill out and post their own definitions of respect, responsibility, safety, and productivity as it relates to their classroom.

With good results, students receive Bobcat Cards that can be traded in for goods and supplies in the Paw Pantry or even used to enter into the monthly drawing for great prizes.

The Bobcat Cards really work to create an awareness to how we want our school represented.

Rebranding

  • Safety and Presence
  • New logo, new colors, new pride
  • Adding Team Logos
  • Badges of Honor
  • Clubs & Organizations
  • More ways for students to feel included
South school colors are currently gray and maroon. Through a lot of thought, a small team came together to work on the rebranding of our school.

New logos for our school, teams, sports, clubs, and organizations are in the development. Our goal is to create as many opportunity for students to show how they are involved in the school.

Are they participate more and more, students can receive iron-on badges of their different activities that can be added to the uniform sweatshirts.

Those students who participate in one of our many clubs or organization typically get t-shirts. Next year, TEAM shirts will be created to help showcase that education is an activity students need to chose to be involved in.

TAD (Team activity day)

  • Positive recognition
  • Quick time for teams to meet
  • A sense of pride & belonging
  • Honoring character traits
South teams meet one day a month for TAD (Team Activity Day). Here students meet and teachers discuss character traits, grades, monthly goals, and give students recognition for outstanding work. It gives students one more sense of pride in our school and a feeling of belonging.

Uniforms

Reducing peer pressure & bullying
Uniforms have been part of our school history (since 2009?). Being the first junior high in the district to adapt these principles, dress code reduces peer pressure, bullying, and distracting from the overall learning environments
