space hubble
NASA named the world's first space-based optical telescope after American astronomer Edwin P. Hubble
April 24, 1990 from space shuttle Discovery.
Hubble transmits about 120 gigabytes of science data every week.
Hubble must be extremely steady and accurate.
Hubble is one of NASA's most successful and long-lasting science missions.

space shuttle
NASA space shuttles have been rocketing from the Florida coast into Earth orbit.
NASA's fleet of space shuttles have been roaring into orbit from the Kennedy Space Center.
After 30 years of service, NASA's fleet of three space shuttles is standing down for good.
The Space Shuttle is probably the most complex machine ever built by mankind.
NASA's space shuttle was unlike any other spacecraft built during the 30 years the program was in operation.

planetarium
The planetarium is built on what once was an artificial island on Lake Michigan.
It was build in 1930.
Planetariums are wonderful places to learn about astronomy and space.
"planetarium" was originally used to refer to a small model of the planets or the solar system.
The first planetarium that people could walk into was built in 1654 in Germany

telescope
The night sky has been studied by humans for many centuries.
Early telescopes sold like mad to merchants.
Almost every major observatory since then has been built in the clear.
The Hooker Telescope proved that other galaxies exist and that the universe is expanding.
The James Webb Space Telescope is the successor to the Hubble telescope and is due to be launched in 201
