It starts with a clear vision of...

• what students already know (review)
• what students will learn (lesson's content)
• what students will need in the future ("subliminal teaching")

Today's lesson

• Review: yo soy, yo tengo, el carro, el avión, corre, vuela
• New vocabulary: alas, ruedas, por el aire, por la tierra, tiene
• Subliminal teaching: /r/, preposition "por", present tense of the verb "Tener", sentence structure (Subject + Verb + Object), spelling.

Everything is intentional

Conscious effort to...

• repeat new vocabulary
• use cognates to enhance students' comprehension and confidence
• promote phonological, morphological and syntactic awareness

Lesson's structure

• Introduction and review
• Explanation and guided practice
• Application (repeated 3 times)
• Conclusion and optional homework

My challenge

My goal

• Create a safe environment where students want to participate and interact with other students, instructional materials, and the teacher
• 100% comprehension of the target vocabulary
• Every student speaks at least five times
