  • The holiday is a blend of pre Hispanic beliefs and Spanish catholic beliefs

  • Indigenous people from Mexico believe that the soul is eternal
  • Day of the dead traditions vary among regions and villages
  • The Mexican marigold is the traditional flower used to honor the dead
  • They usually make candy skulls made out of sugar and place them in the altar of their loved ones

  • Halloween has a very long and storied past, rich with tradition and lore.
  • Originally it was known as “Samhain,”
  • In Halloween people collect candy
  • Some Christians believe it was a day that was for the devil a long time ago
