JOHN COTTON DANA

FIRST PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER OF SLA
In 1909 John Cotton Dana founded the Special Libraries Association and was its first president from 1909 till 1911.

In 1979 SLA created the John Cotton Dana Award in his honor.

NEWARK PUBLIC LIBRARY

HERE, JOHN COTTON DANA WAS MOST SUCCESFUL
He worked in several libraries but was most successful at the Newark Public.
