PRESENTATION OUTLINE
SPEED , DISTANCE AND TIME
The Formula
To calculate speed, you need to know the distance that the object travelled and in how much time it did. Then you simply divide the distance by the time and add the units at the end.
Example: A man runs 200m in 20 seconds, what is his speed?
His Speed will be 10m/s
How to Know If an object's speed is increasing?
To know if an object's speed is increasing than the distance between the different checkpoint will increase, if it is decreasing than the distance between different checkpoints will decrease gradually.
Safety
Knowing the speed of an object can help governments and policemen decide if the object is moving at a correct speed, because if it's not it might be fined as it puts it's life in danger as well as the people around it as larger speed can result into more chances of death.
Red Light Trafficking
Red Light Trafficking is there to insure the safety of people who drive cars. They place light gates on one side of a certain zone and one on the opposite. As soon as a car passes through the first light gate there is a timer that activates and stops when the car passes on the opposite side. Then the policemen divide the distance by the time to calculate the car's speed and if it is speeding will be pulled over as cameras would take pictures of its license plate because they would calculate the speed of the car.
Development
To develop machines scientists and engineers calculate speed for many reasons such as to what speed do comets travel (so robots can land on them) or at what speed to you pass the speed of sound which is about 681 meters per second .
