WHAT IS SPICE?

  • Spice is fake marijuana
  • Called a synthetic cannaboid
  • It has many street names
By fake marijuana and synthetic cannaboid it means that the marijuana is sprayed with chemicals and mixed with other substances to give you more of a jolt then plain marijuana.
Some of its street names are K2, Spice, Incense, Fake Weed, Yucatan Fire, Genie, Skunk, Moon Rocks, Zohai, Black Mamba.

HOW IT BECAME POPULAR

  • In the u.s. By 2008
  • More of a jolt then marijuana
  • Cheap.
  • Could be bought in stores.
It didn't become popular until 2008 in the United States. It was legal until 2012 to have or sell spice.
They had it legal because on the bright colored 3 ounce bags they are sold. They can range from about 10 to 25 $. On the Baggie it would say not for human consumption on them. They would be labeled as "insense"

CONSUMPTION

  • Made into food
  • Made into drinks
  • Smoked
  • Pipe or bong
People consume or ingest spice in the same way they do marijuana. Can be smoked in a joint, bong or pipe. It also can be baked into foods or candies such as brownies and suckers . They can be made into teas as well.

WHAT DOED IT EFFECT?

  • Brain
  • Heart
  • Lungs
  • Effects you mentally.
It effects you brain by how it stimulates it. Killing your brain cells. How your body reacts to it when you get High off of it. Affects your heart by having very rapid heart beat. When people die from using spice it's usual from they're rapid heart beat a or heart attack. Synthetic drugs eat away the linings of your heart. It effects your lungs because it's marinjuana sprayed with chemical , you are ingesting chemicals which is horrible for your body. Effects you mentally by being addicted to it, even trying it, when you get High you might make choices that if you were not under the influence you wouldn't do. People that suffer from using spice sometimes are never the same person after their use, it changes their life permanently.

LETHAL?

YES? NO?
Lethal? It can be! When spice was still legal they had head lines that were called lethal, but legal. Even people in North Dakota have died from synthetic marijuana. It's mostly teens and young adults this happens to. It's amazing how it was legal for so long . You have nausea and seizure and your heart rate is so rapid or it drops completely , it is a very serious thing.the National Poison Data System received 1,898 reports of health problems caused by forms of synthetic marijuana. The most common thing was unregulated heart beat. That number should be 0.

DRUG USE IN TEENS

MOST COMMON DRUGS TEENS ABUSE.
A study on high school seniors 36.4% use marijuana. 11.3 % use synthetic marijuana (spice).
4.8 use hallucinogens . 4.4% use salvia . 3.8% use extacy . 2.7% use cocain . This was a study done by university of Michigan 2012 monitoring the study of the future.

TREATMENT

HELPING PEOPLE WITH ADDICTION
People believe that spice isn't addicting, thinking that it's just a different form of marijuana. They are wrong. They can get addicted to synthetic marijuana ( spice) . When people realize they need help they should talk to a trusted adult that can help them and that do not a use drugs. Have that person help find a personal counselor or treatment center. There is also hot lines that you can call or help as well. You can also talk to you physicians as well.
