2.
WHEN?
By mid-7th century AD the rise of Islam closed off the overland caravan
routes through Egypt and the Suez, and sundered the European
trade community from Axum and India.
A few hundred years ago, the rich people wanted spices.
Spices did not grow in Europe, so they had to be brought from Asia.

4.
WHAT WAS THIS FOR?
This route was to trade spices
And to help exploration of colonies.
Most of these trade routes were very
Dangerous and deadly.
5.
WHY DID THEY CHOOSE THIS ROUTE
They choose this route because
They wanted to pick the most simple
Route to Asia and back.
Also we did not have motorized vehicles
To get there and back quick enough.
