WHAT IS A SPIRIT BEAR?
Called kermode bear or ghost bear because of its unique white color.
Spirit bears are black bears.
They shed their fur in the spring and it stays clean until it gets dirty from fishing or walking.

Great Bear Rain Forest in West-Central Columbia
They can also live on a few islands
One island they can live is at the Princess Royal Island
Make dens among fallen tree roots

HOW DO SPIRIT BEARS SURVIVE?
Can run up to 50 km per hour
Eat green plants, berries, but they mostly eat salmon
Hibernate in giant trees, protector from the winter

They reminded people of a time when the world was covered in glaciers
