HAIKU

(GETTYSBURG)

We're in Gettysburg
Everywhere I look men die
I fight to survive

FREE VERSE POEM

(HIDDEN)

I blend in so easily,
No one would know.
My children will miss me dearly,
But I knew I had to go.

If I am discovered,
I will surly go to jail.
Will the children I have mothered,
Ever pay my bail?

The North had more men,
Some say that's why we lost.
So many of our young soldiers,
Payed the highest cost.

I sit here in sorrow,
All I want to do is cry.
I never thought that I would witness,
So many people die.
