ST. BERNADETTE'S EARLY LIFE

EARLY LIFE
Bernadette Soubirous was born on January 7th, 1844 in Lourdes, France.
ENCOUNTERS WITH THE BLESSED MOTHER
- February 11th, 1858, Bernadette encountered Mary in a cave on the banks of the Gave River.
- From February 18-March 4, Bernadette had more visits from the Blessed Mother which interested crowds of people.
- On February 25, a spring emerged from the cave in a "miraculous" manner.
- On March 25, Bernadette announced that the vision stated she was the Immaculate Conception.
- In 1866, Bernadette was sent to the Sisters of Notre Dame in the Nevers.
LATER LIFE
On April 16, 1879, Bernadette passed away in the Nevers.
CANONIZATION OF ST. BERNADETTE
St. Bernadette's canonization date is December 8th, 1933.
ST. BERNADETTE'S FEAST DAY
St. Bernadette's feast day is celebrated on April 16th.
