Died: in 1821(from tuberculosis)

FINDING HER FAITH
Married to Willam, a businessman, at age 19.
Eventually William lost his job.
William got sick from tuberculosis and moved to Italy.
They moved to Italy because a doctor said the climate would help his condition
First time she was ever exposed to the Catholic Religion.

ACOMPLISHMENTS
Established St. Joseph's Academy & free Catholic schooling.
When she joined the church she made vows of poverty, chastity, &obedience.
Later she was called Mother Seton.
She established the Sisters of St. Josephs with two other people.
Today, 6 religious communities derived from the Sisters of St. Josephs.

TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS
She lost her mother at a young age.
She lost her hsband after a few years of marriage.
Struggled to raise her 5 children on her own.
Was abandoned by her family because she switched her religion.
Because of the way she handled these situations she was considered kind, patient, and courteous

CANONIZATION
She was canonized in 1975 as the Patron of Catholic Schools
Her feast day is January 4
She was devoted to the Sacre Scripture, Holy Eucharist, and Blessed Virgin Mary.
She wanted people to maintain in constant prayer and presence of God.
