EARLY LIFE
- Born in Italy in 1181
- Born into a wealthy family
- Spent days drinking and with girls
- Dropped out of school at the age of 14
- Had a terrible reputation from parents and priests

CONVERSION TO MAN OF GOD
- Joined the army for war between Assisi and Purugia
- Assisi was outnumbered and outgunned
- Francis was captured and tortured for a year
- When he was released he immediately returned to Assisi
- His imprisonment changed his life forever

RELIGIOUS LIFE
- In prison he would have visions of God
- Francis was riding through a valley and came upon a leper man
- He kissed the man and prayed with him
- The man was cured from his lepercey

FINAL DAYS
- Francis was praying before a crucifix when Christ spoke
- He was told to do what The Lord would want him to do
- After this he spent his days preaching and helping others
- He died on October 3, 1226 at age 45
- He was canonized a saint on July 16, 1228
