ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL

The founder of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital was Danny Thomas. Danny had one goal in his life: to entertain people and use that as a way to provide for his family.

• He started to wonder if he should give up on his dreams so he went in despair to St. Jude to pray.
• He told him, "If you show me my way in life, I will build you a shrine."
• Shortly after he became a very well known celebrity, but he still promised to fulfill his vow and by doing so he created St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Their mission statement is that "St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases."

Their methods for affecting social change are finding cures. They want to find the way to prevent any child and their families from going through such a horrible thing. They want to find a way to eliminate childhood cancer for good.

St. Jude gets their funding from fundraising, donations, and also from the government.

This charity is a very good one because it helps families that have a child or children with cancer. It doesn't charge the families with any costs like food, travel, treatment, or even housing. I think this organization needs more publicity than it has.
