PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Lucy was born in Syracuse in the year 283 to a wealthy family.
Lucy devoted herself to Jesus at a young age.
Lucy's dad died when Lucy was five. Her and her mother, Eutychia were left unprotected.
Lucy's mother became very sick and worried about Lucy, betrothed her to a rich pagan man named Paschasius.
Lucy convinced her mother to go to the Shrine of St. Agatha, where she would be healed. When God heard their prayers, he healed Lucy's mother.
Lucia told her mother about her devotion to Jesus. Eutychia supported her and agreed to cancel Lucy's wedding to Paschasius.
Paschasius was so mad at Lucy that he threatened to blind her. Lucy wouldn't back down. After she was blinded, she held her eyes in her hand.
Jesus rewarded Lucy by giving her back her eyes, better than ever.
Trying to tempt Lucy away from Jesus, a pagan judge tried to send her to a house of female sinners. The day she was supposed to be taken, she was so heavy not even a team of oxen could pull her.
Lucy was martyred- burnt at the stake in the year 304.
