ST. SEBASTIAN

ST. SEBASTIAN

  • Was born in Narbonne, Gual
  • In 283 AD he became a solider in the Roman army.
  • Was in charged of prisoners and Zoe, his wife in which she was deaf mute and he cured her.
  • Was named captain in the praetorian guards by Emperor Diocletian.
  • He was a Christian and when discovered that he was, he was ordered to be executed.

ST. SEBASTIAN

  • He got shot with arrows and was thought left for dead but was healed by the widow of St. Castulus.
  • Sebastian criticized the Emperor for his cruelty to Christians.
  • He then was beaten to death on the Emperor's order.
  • He was venerated at Milan and was buried on the Appian Way.
  • He is patron of archers, athletes, and soldiers.

ST. SEBASTIAN

  • He appealed for protection against plagues.
  • He died in AD 288.
