WHAT IS A SAINT

  • The formal definition is a person acknowledged as holy or virtuous
  • and typically regarded as being in heaven after death
  • My own personal definition of a saint is someone who life has
  • created an enormous impact on the church

FACTS

  • Born- January 2, 1873
  • Feast Day - October 1
  • Died- September 30, 1897
  • Canonized in 1925

LIFE

  • She was the last of 9 children and
  • her parents are Blessed Louis and Zélie
  • Martin. Saint Therese and her three remaining
  • sisters joined the Carmelite Order. In 1883 Therese was
  • very ill and she said she was cured through the smile of Mary

WORKS

  • She lived a large extent of her life in silence and continual
  • prayer. Her works include religious prayers, poems and hundreds of
  • letters.

LAST YEAR

  • She became very ill in 1896 arms died a year
  • later. Right before she died she realized that her
  • mission was about to begin. She made a covanent
  • with God that she was going to spend her life in heaven
  • doing good on earth.
