Starbucks opened in 1971, the original name was to be "peqouds" from the book of Moby Dick, later on they decided to change the name to the chief mate of the ship "Starbuck". Starbucks didn't sell coffee in the beginning, they only sold coffee beans and supplies to make coffee. The founders went by the names of, Gordon Bowker, Jerry Baldwin, and Zev Siegl. Jerry, and Zev were history teachers and Gordon was a writer.

Innovations
Starbucks changed a few things from the logo to the free wifi.
Now at Starbucks they start to use more technology than before, they now have apps to order the drinks beforehand.
They also changed the sizes of the drinks and the different drink combinations.
They also added selling teas and food.
When Starbucks was originally created they only sold items to make coffee, and coffee beans, now they began to sell actual coffee.
