In 2006 Valerie O'Neal said the logo was inspired by a Siren a twin tailed mermaid in Greek mythology
This logo has gone through three designs, the first ine was brown but in 1992 it got the famous redesign in the Background
This has been used as a secondary design and the new design just has the text on the outside removed

PARTNERSHIPS
In 1998 Starbucks partnered with Kraft Food, this partnership failed and starbucks had to pay kraft $2.8 billion
In 2006 Starbucks partnered with Apple. Starbucks Added Starbucks Entertainment to the Itunes Store
There was also a feature where people could browse the internet without joining the wifi network.
They also Partnered MSNBC for a program called Morning Joe which advertised Starbucks coffee as that is what they drank for coffee on the show

ENVIROMENTAL IMPACT
In 1999 Starbucks started a program called Grounds for your Garden, which gives leftover Coffee grounds to whoever requests it for composting
In 2004 Starbucks also made their napkins smaller and reduced their solid waste productin by 1,800,000 pounds
In 2004 Starbucks started using 10% of recycled paper in their beverage cups
