Starting a Franchise in California: 3 Cities to Consider
Known for having the most comfortable year-round temperatures and some of the biggest tourist attractions in the United States, California is wonderful place for franchisee candidates to open a Marble Slab Creamery location. Franchisees can choose to live on the coast, in the mountains, near the desert, or in close proximity to Mexico. No other state in the nation can offer the variety of lifestyle options that California contains.
1. With a population of about 240,000, Irvine is a large and affluent city. In 2011, Irvine was ranked by Businessweek as the 5th best city in the US. Irvine has an exceptionally low crime rate for cities over 100,000. Irvine is located in Southern California, just north of San Diego. The year-round temperatures in Irvine are enviable, rarely falling below freezing or reaching above 90 degrees. Irvine offers a wealth of parks so that residents can soak up the gorgeous natural scenery. Irvine also hosts the annual Global Village Festival, which celebrates the diversity of cultures in the area with food, exhibits, and entertainment offered by local merchants.
2. Belmont earned the distinction of being #11 on Forbes magazine’s “America’s Top 25 Towns to Live Well” in 2009. Belmont is an idyllic community with a population of about 25,835 as of the 2010 census. Having two distinguished schools, Carlmont High School and Ralston Middle School, Belmont is known for being a wonderful place to raise a family. There are scenic canyons and wooded hillsides for nature lovers. San Francisco is about 25 miles away from Belmont, so franchisees that move to the area can also enjoy excursions into the city or to the beach.
3. Located in northern central California close to the Shasta Mountains, Redding is a medium-sized city with a population of about 90,000. Historically, Redding was a trade and travel route supported throughout the early 1900s mainly by the mineral extraction industry. The climate in Redding is generally hot and dry through the summer months and mild in the winter months. Redding has the second-highest annual average of sunshine for U.S. cities, with about 88% of days being sunny. Redding has an extensive trail system for nature walks that attract many to the city, both to visit and to live.
