The Levels of Consciousness

  • Conscious: info you know about yourself that youre aware of
  • Nonconsious: bdy processes controlled that we arent aware of
  • ​Preconscious level:​information about yourself or your environment that you aren’t thinking about
  • ​Subconscious level:​information of which we aren’t consciously aware
  • ​Unconscious level:​some events/feelings that are unacceptable to the conscious mind are repressed into it

­Sleep Stages

  • 1NREM:decline in breathing, pulse rates and tempreture
  • 2 NREM:breif bursts of brain waves/ occasional dreams
  • 3 NREM:heart rate and temperature/ person less responsive
  • 4 REM: deepest stage of sleep/ where most dreams occur
