GENITAL HERPES

  • Viral
  • There are 2 types of Herpes
  • One out of 6 people aged 14-19 in the U.S. have herpes
  • Infected sex partners through sex or sores

GONORRHEA

  • Viral
  • If your mother has it when you're born
  • Very common ages 15-24
  • Any sexually active person is at risk for gonorrhea

CHLAMYDIA

  • Viral
  • Can get through sex or if you're born to a mother with it
  • If you've had it before its common to get it again
  • Can make giving birth extremely difficult

TRICHOMONIASIS

  • Viral
  • During sex (mainly infected spots are genital tract/urethra)
  • Easiest treatable STD
  • 3.7 million people have it but only 30% show symptoms

BACTERIAL VAGINOSIS

  • Bacterial
  • Not known how its spread
  • Common in women ages 15-44
  • Cannot get it from toilet seats, bedding, or pools
