FUN FACTS

• Baby steelheads are orange
• Can survive 4-6 years in the wild
• They go into freshwater to lay their eggs, but spend a large part of their life at sea
• They return to where they were born
• Can reach up to 60 pounds

MORE FUN FACTS

• They are skinner than rainbow trout
• Spending 1-3 years in the ocean cause them to spot heavily
• When they are ready to lay their eggs the stripe on the side turns pinkish red
