There are many reasons for meditating. So before you start, determine what you want from this meditation.

Grounding

get out of your head exercise? 
Some ways to ground and connect with the earth. Need to get out of your head and into your body.

1. Exercise
2. Tapping of EFT
3. Jump or bounce
4. Walk in nature

Release

let go
Let go of all that you are holding on. Ways to do that:

1. Take a deep breath through your nose, hold, let air out through your mouth. Do a few times until you feel relaxed.

2. Shake. Sit down, preferably on floor. Shake your body and head slightly

Connect

to your heart
The way to inner peace is through your heart.

1. Breathe into your heart
2. Touch your heart with your hand. That brings your focus to your heart
3. Keep doing this until you feel and hear your heartbeat

Allow

just watch your thoughts don't get attached
This is about allowing NOT controlling your thoughts.

1. Just watch what thoughts you are having. Think of them as clouds just passing by.
2. Do NOT try to stop your thoughts, for this will impede any insights.
3. As you notice your mind wandering, just gently bring it back to watching your thoughts.

Deepen

deeper and deeper into your heart into the quiet
Connect with the universe, your inner self.

As your thoughts slow down, you can deepen between the spaces into your heart. As you do this, you will feel more peaceful. This is when your True Self, your intuition, your connection to the universe will appear. Just be open and receive.
