Stingrays

Stingrays eat clams,mussels,and fish.Their mouths are on the bottom of them.

Habitat

  • warm waters
  • near the coasts
  • on the ocean floor

Stingrays migrate in very large numbers.They migrate twice a year to get to warmer waters when the weather is cold.

Stingrays' Appearance

  • flattened bodies
  • disc shaped
  • long,poisonous tails
  • "wings" in some species

Human Interaction

Stingrays give birth to 2-6 babies each year.

  • people living near stingrays can make daggers with their spines.
  • they migrate in very large numbers (thousands!).
  • They only attack if they are threatened.
  • they can weigh up to 790 pounds and 7 feet long.
