STORY OF MY LIFE AS A MARTIAL ARTIST
When I was about ten, I didn't do anything active. That is, until I decided to do martial arts.
When I started, I didn't know anything, which made it tough to do simple moves and techniques.
I began to learn and memorize everything they taught the beginning belts, but, before I knew it, I was intermediate, and had the same problem.
Everything that I had learned had become tougher, but thankfully I learned it over time.
I eventually moved onto the next set of belts. Although I had plenty of knowledge on each move and technique up to that point, what came next felt difficult for me.
The advanced belts and their moves were much more difficult than the previous ones.
The techniques were absurd at first, mainly because of how many moves were in each one, and yet I was able to do it with enough practice.
To top it off, if I wanted to have a black belt, I had to do was complete a difficult three day test.
The first day had us do exercise to the point where we were panting, the second day had us do every move we learned over time, and the third day had us fight against each other.
One final thing I had to do to wear a black belt was to do a performance with a weapon in front of an audience, which was the final step to becoming a black belt.
Karate (to me at least) is like life, no matter what your status is, it's still a challenge and you're still constantly learning.
