WHAT IS IT

• Crime stems from lack of culture and social structure
• Lack of fit
• Stressors can increase the likelihood of crime
• It is the most common theory
• A person will commit a crime due to inability to achieve success

HOW IT APPLIES TO THE GP

• The average person is taught to go to school to achieve success
• The average person is taught to wanting the finer things in life
• The American dream is not equally distributed
• Not everyone has the same means of obtaining success
• The American dream creates crime

HOW IT APPLIES TO GANGS

• Most gang members failed at success
• Gang members are formed with the goal of obtaining what they lack
• Gang members live a life of crime to due to their "lack of fit"
• Most gangs are formed in urban neighborhoods who lack opportunity.
• Lack of opportunity is believed to force people into gangs.

MY PRECIOUS THOUGHTS

• People live the life of crime because they choose to
• Hard work and dedication can get you success
• People commit crimes because they can't handle life
• Life is life.....you play the hand your dealt with
• Their are those who make their bad situations into something positive
