  • Catorgorized into 3 types of boats and ships
  • Pleasure- for enjoyment and fun
  • Commercial- for the transportation of important goods/items
  • Military- to defend a specific area/ protect the innocent public

  • Built to reflect the job at hand
  • All ships have two essential parts:
  • Hull- cuts through the water
  • Superstructure- what people/cargo

  • Container

CONTAINERS

  • All containers used are the same size
  • They transport whatever can fit
  • Containers can also be shipped in land on trucks
  • Containers are very expensive
  • Container Ships solved this by being faster and more efficient
