iNDIRECT qUESTION

  • The first type of subjunctive use.
  • Can be made out of direct questions:
  • "Were the boys going to the baths today?" can be made into... 
  • "Mother does not know if the boys were going to the baths today."
  • The indirect question does not end with a question mark.

Question Words

  • Every indirect question involves a question word.
  • The question word usually follows the subject of the sentence.
  • Here are some examples of question words:
  • Who (quis), what (quid), when (ubi, quando), where (ubi)
