  • Color- Yellow to Yellow Brown
  • Streak- White
  • Hardness- 1.5 - 2.5
  • Specific Gravity- 2.0 - 2.1

SULFUR INFO

  • Luster- adamantine on clean, crystal surfaces, otherwise dull.
  • Crystal Shape- Orthorhombic
  • Cleavage- None
  • Fracture- Conchoidal
  • Location on Where it is Found- Near Volcanoes, hot springs, rotten eggs, etc.

  • Transparency- Can be transparent to opaque
  • Class- Sulfur Polymorph group
  • Mineral Group- Native elements; non metallic elements
  • What has it been used for- sulfuric acids, fertilizer, gunpowder, sulfur compounds, etc.

How was Sulfur Discovered?

It was found in 600-700 BC, so no one is really sure how it was.
