72% of SHELTER ANIMALS ARE KILLED ANNUALLY
NO KILL SHELTERS NEED YOUR HELP!!
- No kill shelters receive less than 1% of government funding,
- Are usually over capacity and have to turn away more animals than they take in,
- Depend heavily upon volunteers workers, including veterinarians,
- Are being shut down at an alarming rate.
SUPPORT BEST FRIENDS
- Best Friends No Kill Community Initiative strives to make our country at least 90% no kill.
- Best Friends efforts include Adoption Centers,
- Super Adoption Week when all adoptions are free of charge;
- Spay & Neuter Clinic, which has a capacity for 300 animals,
- A Pet Sanctuary that accommodates 100 pets;
- Supports temporary foster homes for some animals to live until permanently placed.
- Based in Los Angeles, Best Friends has programs and some grant money to help every city become a No Kill Community.
- Best Friends in Salt Lake City, Utah has made the whole state 94.5% No Kill as of March, 2016.
