ECCRINE GLANDS

  • Occur over most of your body and open directly into the skin.
  • When body temp. Rises your autonomic nervous system stimulates the eccrine gland.
  • The gland then secretes fluid onto the surface of your skin where it cools the body as it evaporates.

APOCRINE GLANDS

  • Apocrine glands develop in areas abundant in hair follicles.
  • (Scalp, armpits, and groin.)
  • When under emotional stress, the wall of the tubule contracts and the sweat it pushed to the surface.
