MUTUALISM

  • When a relationship between two kinds of organisms benefits both of them.
  • A bird needs parasites to eat and a crocodile needs to get parasites off of it.
  • A yucca moth needs a place to lay it's eggs and a yucca tree needs to be pollinated.
  • A shark needs to get parasites off of it's teeth and a cleaner fish needs parasites to eat.

PARASITISM

  • A relationship in one kind of organism lives on or in another organism and may harm that organism.
  • Tapeworms feed of what the host eats.
  • Mistletoe takes food from other plants.
  • Fleas feed off the blood of animals.

  • A relationship in which one organism benefits from another without harming or helping it.
  • Orchids can latch on to trees for protection.
  • Fish can hide in sea anemone for protection.
