  • Organism- individual creature (Tiger)
  • Species- A group of similar organisms (Siberian Tigers)
  • Population-A group of different species living in the same area(Grizzly bears and black bears)
  • Community- a group of populations, interacting with one another(Bears and fish)
  • Ecosystem- the cooperation between living and nonliving things in a certain region(a river)

  • Biome- a large occurring community of flora and fauna occupying a major habitat (Taiga)

  • It is the largest biome in the world

  • It is located near the top of the world, just under the tundra

DESCRIPTION

  • Taigas are forests that are known for their cold winters

INTERESTING FACTS

  • Named after Boreas, Greek god of the north wind
  • Boreal is usually used for the temperate southern area
  • Taiga refers to the cold barren northen areas
  • Of the 300 birds who live there, only 30 stay through winter
  • Aurora borealis, or the northern lights, are common in this biome
