• Kittens stay with mother for 10 months

CONIFEROUS TREES

• Don't shed leaves, have needles
• Conical shape to drop snow easier
• Root system holds water

HABITAT & WEATHER

• Soil has few nutrients
• 1% of forest burns every year
• Temperatures range from -65 - +70
• Winter lasts 6 to 7 months
• 20 hrs of daylight in summer

HUMAN INFLUENCES

• Not highly populated
• Forests endangered from logging
• Mining includes diamonds, uranium, gold, iron
• Over hunting & fishing
