  • Because closing trade with China would get us out many products.
  • Because angering China could possibly lead to war.
  • Because going to war with China could compromise Taiwan's safety.
  • We would have recognized Taiwan for no reason.
  • Also, things are fine with China and Taiwan the way they are.
