The Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan. He was the Mongolian Emperor. He built it for his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

Why is it a 7 wonder?

  • This amazing masterpiece is a 7 wonder because it is an abiding monument built out of unconditional love. It shows that love can survive through anything even a war.
  • Plus it is considered one of the most beautiful building in the world

Cost, time, and Builders

  • It cost 32 rupees which is equivalent to about $1.3 million dollars today.
  • It took about 20 years to build. It was started around 1630 and was finished around 1650.
  • Chief architect was Ustad Ahmad Lahawrī.
