He was a chief of the Ngatitoa tribe.

Te Rauparaha next invaded the top of the South Island to claim it's Greenstone.

The walk South was called Te-Heke-Tahu Tahu-ahi.

From 1807 muskets became weapons of choice among Maori tribes who had always fought each power.
