A presentation created that demonstrates knowledge of the current ISTE NETS-S and the performance indicators of technologically literate students for a specific grade range.
1. Illustrate and communicate original ideas and stories using digital tools and media-rich resources.
Students will create original stories about their favorite object. Students will have the flexibility to choose any object that they want. They will create a a story about this object using a digital resource in the classroom.
3. Engage in learning activities with learners from multiple cultures through e-mail and other electronic means.
Students will participate in online chats or pen pal programs through e-mail to learn about a culture from a friend around the world. There will be a party at the end of the year where students will celebrate and teach one another about their friend and their culture.
5. Find and evaluate information related to a current or historical person or event using digital resources.
Students will use online search engines, or news websites to find information about someone they know is famous. Students will then share information about the person they learned about, and how they have changed the world.
10. Demonstrate ability to navigate in virtual environments such as electronic books, simulation software, and Web sites.
Students will participate in a scavenger hunt that is age appropriate and allows them to explore the web. The hunt will ensure that students are able to navigate independently and gather information or knowledge from different software.
