My topic is about a group of teenagers working together to make a ventilator, because of what’s happening world wide.
Some issues are that Afghanistan only has 400 ventilators out of 37 million people in the country. The problem is they don’t have enough ventilators to help the sick, and with the virus going around it’s going to make it much harder.
A group of girls have started building the ventilator, there leader Roya Mahboob works to empower girls. Lots of people could benefit from this event if the girls succeed. But then again lots of people can be harmed if the girls can’t make the ventilator.
This happens in Herat in Afghanistan. It probably can impact another place once they get it to work. This does not occur in another place.
It might be finished this month or possibly next month. I’m not sure when this event occurred. Action must be taken to deal with the issue soon, probably a month.
This is significant because in Afghanistan they don’t have as many ventilators anymore due to the outbreak. It affects the people involved because they have a lot of pressure on the, to get it done and hopefully get it to work. This system their building can actually help since Afghanistan doesn’t have enough for the hospitals.
I think it’s really amazing what their doing especially since they don’t have as many ventilators because of the Corona outbreak.
This is a positive effect on society because, building the ventilators can help the sick in the hospital and for many other things.
This has a negative impact on society because, if it doesn’t work they wasted lots of resources that could’ve been used for something else. And if it doesn’t work maybe it would cause pollution.
(1) If you and other people were building a ventilator who would you ask to help you with? It could be anyone
(2) Where would you do your work and how would you get your resources for the ventilators?
