SYMPTOMS

  • Pain or dull ache in the joint
  • Tenderness
  • Swelling
  • Loss of motion in the tendon
  • Whole body starts to feel weak

DIAGNOSIS/TREATMENT

  • A doctor can diagnose by feeling the tendon or yo can self diagnose by feeling the symptoms
  • Treatment options are physical therapy, icing and just rest on the joint

WHO GETS THIS DISEASE

  • As people get older their tendons become less flexible causing more strain in the tendon make it more likely to get tendinitis
  • Younger aged people can also get also get tendinitis by doing activities the involve repetitive motion such as sports and running

FACTS

  • Tendinitis takes 6-8 weeks to heal
  • The disease is very common in people that do repetitive motions
  • Rafael Nadal a famous tennis player was kept out of the 2012 Olympics because of tendinitis in his elbow (tennis elbow)
