WHEN WAS IT ESTABLISHED?

  • The TVA was established in 1933.
  • The founders were Franklin D. Roosevelt and George W. Norris.
  • The headquarters are located in Knoxville, Tennessee.

WHY WAS IT CREATED?

  • To address a wide range of environmental, economic, and technological issues
  • Included delivery of low-cost electricity and the management of natural resources.
  • Created to help the region and the nation during the Great Depression.

WHO DID IT BENEFIT?

  • The TVA created dams so people had lots of jobs.
  • The TVA lowered the price for electricity so more people could afford it.
  • It gave unemployed people jobs.

WAS IT SUCESSFUL?

  • The TVA was successful.
  • Reduced problems by teaching better farming methods.
  • Reduced problems by planting tress and flowers.
