EGG DROP CHALLENGE

In our egg drop container, we have tennis balls, to absorb the shock. Our egg is inside a tennis ball cut in half to prevent it from cracking and breaking open. A tennis ball is better preventing than bubble wrap because a tennis ball has a thicker layer to protect the egg, but bubble wrap is thin and can pop, witch would not absorb the shock as well. A tennis ball is also a better resource then packing peanuts because, it is thick and can not break or get destroyed, and if packing peanuts get squished or something is force full on it it will break making it less shock resistant :)

We chose this design because it seemed that it could easily protect the egg, and reduce the amount of shock that the egg is produced to. We have our egg inside a tennis ball because the tennis ball is thick and sturdy to keep the egg from cracking. (Slide to see design).

WEIGHT

THE WEIGHT OF OUR CONTAINER WAS 299 GRAMS TOTAL

The final result of our egg drop was the egg failed. Our egg broke and the container did NOT work to keep the egg safe.

Forces that act on the egg as it is falling is, Gravity, Aerodynamic Drag and Buoyancy force (wind)

Some ways you can control the forces are
. Parachute
. Weight
. Dissipate energy

WE HAD 10 MATERIALS FOR OUR CONTAINER IN ALL

Layering protection resources did not work in protection. We had to much and it added weight which made it weigh more, which made to egg break in force.

Something about our design that made it break was the amount of the weight. The heavy weight made it fall faster and have more force.

Something we would change about our project was how much it weighed, we would make it weigh much less.
