WHY ARE THEY NECESSARY ?

  • They break corruption in the government
  • They restrict power to incumbents
  • They provide for diversity in Congress
  • They break power to special interest groups
  • They force congressmen to think twice

AMENDMENT 22
No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice. No person who has held the office of President, acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once. This article shall not be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment.

AMENDMENT 28
Congressmen in the house may serve up to 4 terms, while Senators may serve up to 2 terms, this amendment also includes a clause that states, that congressmen and senators may only take half of their salary for the remainder of their life.
