  • Then got cold
  • At the end of the period got freezing and ice age started

  • Between North and South America formed Central America land bridge

  • North and South America were not yet continents
  • India was still an island off the coast tof South East Asia
  • Antarctica was not yet centered over the South Pole
  • Continental drift happened during the Tertiary resulted in continents reaching current positions by the end of the period
