THE PROBLEM

• The most popular forms of energy, such as coal, produce a lot of fossil fuels that contribute to global warming.
• Solar panels now don't have a way to store the energy that they bring in.
• TESLA Powerwall solves these problems because it is eco friendly and saves the solar energy brought in by solar panels.

WHAT IS THE TESLA POWERWALL?

• The TESLA Powewall is a 10kWh rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
• It is compatible with existing solar panels and will store the energy the solar panels take in and transfer the solar energy into electricity for domestic use.

The number 1 source of energy in the US is coal witch produces fossil fuels that are pollutants. The sun is essentially a high fusion reactor with ridiculous amount of power that can be turned into energy that produces no fossil fuels. TESLA Powerwall is a device that can store this energy for use anywhere.

ADVANTAGES

• Eliminates fossil fuels and the use of non renewable resources, the sun however will never go away and we will always have its energy.
• The Powerwall is wall mounted which means a separate battery room is needed to save power.
• Good solution for people in remote locations who can go completely off the utility grid.
• Eliminates electricity lines, if we are thinking far into the future as the Powewall being a better alternative that the whole world can convert to.

• Pleasing to the eye and compatible with already existing solar panels so families with panels won't have to purchase new ones.

DISADVANTAGES

• The list price is $3,500 but installation cost will double that to be $7,000. It is expected that the retail for the Powerwall could reach up to $10,000
• Has only a 10 year battery life
• Paying the energy company per kWh of energy storage is more expensive with green solutions like the Powerwall as opposed to non renewable energy sources.

WHEN WILL THE POWERWALL BE READY FOR TESTING?

• The Powerwall has already been successfully created and tested.
• The TESLA Powerwall launch event was powered solely on energy stored in the Powerwalls and everything worked perfectly, the same as it would have on the grid.

WHEN WILL IT BE READY FOR CONSUMERS?

• The Powerwall is already available to purchase and have reserved, deliveries and installations will begin this summer.

HOW WILL THIS TECHNOLOGY CHANGE OVER TIME?

• It is hoped that more energy effecient batteries will be invented. In the future the world could go completely off the utility grid producing no fossil fuels or carbon emissions.
• Predictions say that in the next few years, new, more affordable home batteries will be invented and marketed so a wider variety of people have access to new technologies.
