WHAT IT CONTROLS

  • Most “manly” features like:
  • Body hair
  • Voice
  • Bone and muscle strength
  • Sex drive
  • And development of male genitalia.

WHERE IT COMES FROM

  • Testosterone comes from the endocrine system and the pituitary gland sends it to the testicles
  • Adrenal glands aswell

HOW IT IS MADE

  • It is produced by the Leydig cells in the testies
  • And in the ovaries but changes into oestradiol

WHAT IT DOES

  • Too much testosterone leads to precocious puberty and a result of infertility
  • Conditions that cause this are
  • Androgen resistance and ovarian cancer

  • Low testosterone causes mood disruptions increased body fat loss of muscle and Ed aswell as low sex drive, loss of concentration and problems sleeping
  • (About 2% of men affected)

PT. 3

  • Testosterone alters iron metabolism and stimulates red blood cell productions
  • Testosterone levels are highest at around 8 a.m. and lowest around 8 p.m rising through the night.

WHAT HAPPENS WITHOUT IT

  • For men without testosterone physical changes in muscle mass and things like your voice and genitalia don’t properly Forman’s depression
  • As well as increased emotional stress
  • Commonly used for transgenders trying to pear more feminine.
