Texas wins independence from Mexico!They stayed a republic for 9 years.They had 2 presidents- 1st is Sam Houston 2nd is Mirabue Lamar. They had problems with debt and native Americans. People also had different opinions on the republics future.

CIVIL WAR

The Southern states split from the rest of the U.S because they wanted to keep slaves. They became the Confederate states of America. It was confederate states (South) vs. United States. (North).The United States (North) won and slavery was ended!😊😊
